I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Rochester Institute of Technology studying computational and quantitative literacy, focused on teaching life science students. I studied physics as an undergraduate before transitioning to a biological physicist in graduate school. Working in the Finegan-Bergrstalh Lab for my PhD was eye opening to just how far quantitative and computational skills can take someone exploring the biological sciences. Since then, I decided I want to focus my research on figuring out the best ways to teach these skills to life science students while simultaneously developing as an educator. Working in the Newman MBER Lab and the Zwickl PER Lab during my postdoc is helping me to cultivate these interests.
